Perdue > Part of the geologic features known as the Mormon Rocks (from early settlers that were here). These are uplifted plates of Cajon Sandstone that have been shaped by wind and rain erosion and uplifted by the San Andreas fault that lies nearby. Interstate 15 at the Cajon Pass is only 1/2 miles from here in Southern California.
Perdue > Wind blown holes in the soft Cajon Sandstone at the Mormon Rocks, a geological feature along the San Andreas Fault at Cajon Pass in southern California. These are part of a plate uplifted by the fault which slipped in 1857 at a magnitude 8.0 earthquake here.
