Most of these photos were in my grandmother Perdue (VanHook) special trunk of keepsakes. Most of them are from the mid-19th century and few are named. They represent a time long gone by, a time without iPads, telephones, electricity, and the hustle-bustle of our modern day.

  • A photo from the late 1800's taken in Arkansas, found in the effects of my great Grandmother, Mary Abbie Corinne Prothro, who lived from 1853 to 1920. The name on the back and bottom of the photo was Woodward Wright, artist.
  • Photo (in bad condition) of my great-grandmother's Brother, Benjamin Bussey "Benny" Prothro, born 1859, and died 1922. This looks about 18 years old, so probably taken near 1877. My great-grandmother was Mary Abbie Corinne Prothro, who lived from 1853 to 1920.
  • Photo most likely taken in late 1800's. In possession of my great-grandmother, Mary Abbie Corinne Prothro, who lived from 1853 to 1920. This might be Mary Abbie Corinne Prothro, but no way to know.
  • Edgar Freeman, first cousin of my great-grandmother, Mary Abbie Corinne Prothro, who lived from 1853 to 1920. This photo was probably taken about 1870, when Edgar was 5 years old. In El Dorado, Arkansas. This could also be "Joe" Freeman, who was 3 years younger than Edgar.
  • I believe this is my Grandmother Vera Crandall. My mother's mom.
  • This is Ada Nolan, Newt's first cousin, 3 times removed. She was born in 1860, and was the first cousin of my great-grandmother, Mary Prothro VanHook.
  • I don't know exactly who this is, but my guess is that it is my great-grandfather, Robert Rhodes VanHook. It was a photo in possession of my great-grandmother. The photo taken in 1876, when Robert would have been 20 years old, 2 years before he married Mary Abbie Prothro.

  • This photo is from my great grandmother Abbie Prothro's belongings, and may be a picture of herself.
