This is a paintbrush like plant growing in the large sagebrush on the northern side of the Centennial Valley of Montana. It resembles Sulphur Indian paintbrush (Castillea sulphurea). It is about 8 to 10 inches tall. It is growing in dry sandy soil. July 13, 2012.
