  • Smooth Scouringrush (Equisetum laevigatum) found on north slopes of Nature Conservancy plot north of Red Rock Lakes Nat'l Wildlife Refuge. This version of the horsetail likes it drier than it's wetlands counterpart (field horsetail, Equisetum arvense). I found this on all of the northern facing slopes of the sand dunes.
